DPDK's new chapter: The next era of brand building starts here
WRITTEN BY Pim van HeltenBefore brands understood the power of digital, we were already building it.
Back then, digital was still a niche. The web was a playground: raw, open, and full of possibility. If you had an idea, you just built it. And before you knew it, your work was making waves across the world.
DPDK began in 2001 as the silent engine behind award-winning work for traditional advertising agencies. We wore their logos, joined their pitches, and helped create award-winning work but always from behind the scenes. It didn’t take long to realize: we understood digital better than the strategists and creative directors we were working for.
So we stopped building for others and started building for ourselves. In the middle of a global financial crisis, we did what few dared: we cut ties with the old model, redefined our path, and turned DPDK into an agency for brands ready to lead.
Now, 25 years later, we’re a brand innovation agency with offices in North America and Asia. We've helped hundreds of brands shape their digital future, from platforms and storytelling to award-winning brand experiences.
And as the world changes, we evolve too.
Why reposition DPDK now?
Branding today is broken. Campaigns are forgotten. Teams are fragmented. The work is disconnected.
We’ve seen the same patterns repeat themselves: quarter after quarter, brief after brief. Campaigns launched in isolation, websites are rebuilt without brand context. Teams operate in silos. Deliverables stack up, but the brand doesn’t move forward.
We know this story, because we’ve been called to fix it. To bring focus. To connect the dots. To stop the resets and start the building up.
DPDK is not repositioning to keep up with change. We’re doing it to lead the shift towards coherence, consistency and brand systems that drive performance over time.
Time for a better model
We believe brands only grow when they are built as systems. A system that connects the dots across your brand from positioning and platforms to behaviour and internal culture. With a clear strategy, a sharp brand story, consistent execution and a rhythm that builds trust and recognition.
Modern brands don’t need a production agency. They need a system partner, one that brings creative thinking together with consistency, scalability and long-term impact.
That is why we are sharpening our positioning and introducing a new model for brand building:
Connected Brand System - Build your brand as a system, not a collection of assets.

What does this new positioning mean?
DPDK developed the Connected Brand System as a direct answer to the fragmentation we’ve seen growing in the market for years. It’s a system we architectured from 25 years of practice, designed to bring structure where brands face fragmentation.
A Connected Brand System is the strategic foundation beneath your brand. It translates positioning into a connected system that guides every expression, speeds up execution, and anchors your brand in behavior, culture, and technology. It brings strategy and operations together making the brand a driving force in the organization, not a follower.
We don’t build deliverables. We build foundations. From brand narrative to behavior guidelines, from design systems to content and campaigns, everything is aligned and driven by one clear compass.
What can ambitious brands expect from the new DPDK?
Leaders of ambitious brands can expect more than just creative execution. We don’t follow briefs, we provide direction where clarity is lacking.
We’re not a production partner or campaign agency, but a strategic force that helps build the brand from the ground up: from positioning to performance, from vision to behavior.
Where others stop at strategy or design, we connect the whole system: brand, marketing, technology, and culture. With a way of working that’s unique to DPDK and built on 25 years of innovation, we bring structure to complexity and move from thinking to doing without compromising on quality or consistency.
Our strength lies in combining strategic system thinking with creative firepower. In challenging and executing. In translating ambition into a reality that’s felt, in every experience, across every layer of the organization.
